Some Office Chats - Personal Money

I’m having a chat just now,

My collegue were talking about anything that relates to everyone’s interest. But the one that caught everybody is about the personal money.

My Friend (1)

Say that you can cut your debt lifespan if you can pay monthly debt commitment twice a month by dividing your monthly payment . In conventional way, 2 times a month paying your debt would amount up to 24 times of paying a year, but it is not going to happen like that, you are actually paying 26 times a year.!! Great huh?? Thats what my friend says according to the computation of the bank. At the end of the year, your statement could have been recorded 26 times of payment made for that particular year

My Friend (2)

He says that if you have a RM100,000, then you should be able to deposit your money in a Foreign Fixed Deposit for a day and reap its return of about 7 % with CIMB bank….Is it true!!! Where’s my calculator??

Just for poinders….

Investment for My Son

I was thinking of putting a sum of investment and i mean a pure solid purposes is for investment for my son. But my risk appetite have to be assessed first as to see which are the best with my risk appetite.

I was thinking of putting the money that Nik Arhsad received from relatives and friends into Amanah Saham Didik (ASD). ASD is one of the investment instrument that work more or less like a mutual fund and its selling price remains at RM1. Which is likely a capital protected type of fund. The last year’s return if i’m not mistaken is around 7 to 8 percent.

But for now, i invested in these Mayban Investment linked Fund with an allocation of RM 100 a month. I get both the investment and protection benefit against critical illnesses.

I think i would go for this ASD as they are goin to set up a booth downstairs at my office tomorrow morning. My wife and i had planned to open this ASD account ever since but time is a hindrance for us.

So…as i’m a risk averse type a have a increment of commitments now, i think ASD suit my preference.
