Getting the slimmest mouse in town

Hop over at the JohnChow’s blog today’s first entry. He hold up a contest again for bloggers around the world. Just part of his marketing strategy to interact with his readers.

Do this mouse is the one that i need?

Actually, i don’t really have a laptop, but my wife do….maybe i could give this awesome thinnest mouse to my wife so that it would freak her out when looking at it. Why…because it does not look like a mouse to me.

This mouse is so thin that it fits inside the PC slot on the side of your notebook computer.

Having said that my wife own an Acer which she bought at the PC Fair last April. Since then, I’m the one who could be the frequent user compared to her. So…why not winning this slimmest mouse in the world and give it to my wife as a present….after all, it will came back to square one…which is me using it… :) since i’m using her laptop right now.

So…by replying and sending trackback to johnchow’s post, i really hope that i could win this. Hey its double entry too…. !!!

The New Seven (7)

The New Seven (7) Wonders of The World

Have you ever heard of the 7 wonders of the world, recently they have asked more than 100 billion people worldwide to cast the vote of their choices on the 7 wonders of the world. The results is as follows;

  • The Great Wall of China
  • Petra in Jordan
  • Brazil’s statue of Christ the Redeemer
  • Peru’s Machu Picchu
  • Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid
  • The Colosseum in Rome
  • India’s Taj Mahal

Well, i have dig up the internet and i am not sure what is the criteria to be the seven wonders of the world. For what i can think, the measures should be the historical, magnificent and the age might be set for the primary criteria.

:) Just my ramblings of the day!!

A call of Duty, A Call Centre Duty

My Friend and i were assigned to be a customer services phone operator on 28th of July to the hot line call center of KPDN& HEP. This is a high time where the salaries hike had a turbulence towards the commercial community and every business owners are starting on a price hike rally.

Well, there you go…the Minister, Dato’ Mohd Shafie Apdal have instructed that the hotline were given high priorities as to facilitate any complaints through out the year.

But then, we’ve waited until 10 pm and hardly getting even one call from the public.

Actually the reason for this would be :

Point 1

Since we’re in the headquarters, the line will accept only cell-phones calls and calls within the Klang Valley. The state incoming calls will be diverted to the State Office’s of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. Meaning to say, if you’re calling from Johore, the calls will be answered by the personnel at the Johore State Office. But the case is different for those calling from their cell phones.

Point 2

I think the public couldn’t care enough to memorize the toll free number. But maybe i’m wrong as the perception of the public towards toll free numbers by government agencies is that the services delivered is somehow not up to their expectation. Nevertheless, various effort taken to get the public aware of the numbers for them to call. The toll free numbers is 1 800 886 800 and for short messaging services (SMS) is 32255.

Point 3

Maybe the public think that enforcement officer have taken great measures to endure any price hike and there would be less favorable in the publics part to lodge a complaint.

However i myself would not prefer to hold a task as a customer services phone operator. Since it creates some boresome situation for just to be available at the phone at all time regardless of anyone calling or not.

And… the fact is, i really, really, really appreciate those as a customer services phone operator on putting their commitment on the job.!!

Here are two (2) pictures of my friend and i at the call center;

Another Friday Prayer at the Mosque

UNITEN

Another Friday prayer at the Uniten mosque again….i think i am the loyal Friday prayer at Uniten as many faces throughout the Friday’s seems very similar to me. i should make some networking there as most of them comprises of the civil servants.

Usually i went there with Azhar, Mizool, Salleh, Nazri. These people could be the permanent representative of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affair to the Friday Uniten Mosque, including me.!!!

But today, seems there’s no body at the office, only Mizool and me going to the Friday Prayers at Uniten. As to our routine, we go for lunch at the food court could normally known by their student as “UPTEN”. Its either two stalls and two choices to go which is the Briyani or Asam Pedas delicates.

Actually Uniten Mosque is very closed to my heart as i graduated from UNITEN, and most of my Friday prayer were spent at the Mosque. It has been a wonderfull memory to refresh back as a student once upon a time and UNITEN mosque could be one of the most impressive design and the most comfortable built layout for prayer to move and mingle around.

Hopefully TNB will contribute more by preserving its uniqueness as being the floating barge type Mosque in Bangi. Congrats TNB for contributing something for the Nation….

No 3G Connection in Putrajaya Here!!

It was about couple of weeks ago that my ex-boss, even we’re in the same division i still regard him as my boss, and he were given a task to make the Price Fluactuation of the Control Item in Malaysia real-time data for the officers, maybe on the next stage we would go real-time to public.

As what we experience, The Control Item Prices in Malaysia sometimes does not reach the public’s knowledge and it takes time for the public to know what’s happening. So after several discussion in pursuit of solution, we came out with Bloomberg ideas. So we called Bloomberg guys to come over to the office and demonstrate how can the Bloomberg effective system would be able to cater to our needs.

As we sat down, on the meeting tables, discussion have been made about all the benefits of using Bloomberg. According to them bloomberg have many clients around the world and their services is basically as what available at their website ;

Bloomberg is about information: accessing it, reporting it, analyzing it and distributing it, faster and more accurately than any other organization. The BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL service, the company’s core product, is the fastest-growing real-time financial information network in the world.

So we were very impressed, asking them to demonstrate the system to us. These two guys from bloomberg looks very pleasing at first as they starting out to demonstrate with their own company laptop. As we continued discussing to pass the time and allow the websites of Bloomberg to load using his 3G card.

The guys were expatriate and both of them have various MultiNationals job experience, the guys told us that it have been around 4 years working here at Bloomberg Malaysia.

But to no avail….actually nobody realizes that there were no 3G connection here, in the middle of Putrajaya? So….i asked him, what carrier do you use, he said it was Maxis. MAxis???does not have 3G coverage here?.

The Bloomberg guys seem very annoyed and frustrated and they become somewhat “giving up” by the idea of connecting to the internet. More of this, as i whispered to my colleague, its is such an absurd thinking there was no 3G connection in the middle of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) territory. What the hell does Maxis is doing.

Towards the end, we tried to used the wired line internet connection but were not lucky enough as the Office server is down. Becoming a little bit shame facing this Blommberg guys and we commence on discussing as both parties looks very frustrated with what happened.

Therefore, what might you think that 3G connection is not available in the middle of Putrajaya, the Centre of Federal Government Administration? Or is it there is less demand for 3G connection and the carrier couldn’t care less about it.

So…how can we suppose to encouraged the usage of the internet and developing the so called e-commerce when having halt 3G connection in the middle of Putrajaya? I dare that we would not be able to hover the usage of internet connection as information sharing is very crucial nowadays especially when an organisations communicate with other organisations.

I think this might be one of the irritating experience and to add it further, the discussion is between us and the Mat Salleh guys!

Transformer the Movie - Awesome Piece of Work

transformer

Just came back from watching Transformer Movie at GSC IOI Puchong. Only one word that i can describe about the movie….awesome!!!!

Geeting back to home from my office as i drive through LDP highway, my wife is not around as i send her off for a duty at Kuala Terengganu…sob..sob…sob…But then becoming bachelor again is something that is imperfect. I feel like my life is not complete without my wife. However, as i drove towards Puchong, at a glance i was thinking that my brother had watched this Transformer movies last friday and i thought why not!!! lets watch it alone at IOI Puchong. Lucky me as i did not missed that junction to IOI Mall Puchong. Seeing the “Parking at Roof Top” sign, i then step on the pedal towards the parking ticket and shoot up all the way to the roof. Why? because i know the Cinema is on the top floor!!! pssst…its a secret. :P

Here’s what happened, bought the ticket at 7.10 and the movie starts at 7.20. Not many people viewed today as it is a weekday compared to the weekends. Actually i’ve got the intention to watched this weekend last Sunday, but alas, none of the movie tickets is available as they were fully book when i check on the GSC online web on Saturday.

By 7.10, the ticket is selling fast, putting myself on the queue, and went straight to the Cinema no.2. Hell….they said it was selling fast, but the seat are not that lightning occupied by the viewers….(yes its weekdays, what do you expect?). Even though it is not lighning seated, but it’s full house as to viewers coming in gradually time by time to occupy the vacant seats.

I thought i was luck as on my right there was nobody and thought that i could used that extra spaces to be treated as my privacy. BUt to no avail, one Chinese guy at the Middle aged 40+ came in alone and sweeping in asking room to pass through and seated left to me. Arrgghhhh….silly GSC….even this one spot of a seat they want to fill it up. Never mind, as my thought rumbles with the excitement of watching the Movie.

Well, i don’t want to comment much on the Transformer Movies, i believe the reviews have scattered all around the Net. Just Googled for the word Transformed the Movie. But from what i can say…..with only one word is….AWESOME!!!….

Scam Dropshipping Malaysian Products

I may not be one of the great netpreneur on the internet yet involved in any dropshipping businesses. I’m just telling that people who like to trade through the internet must be very…i mean very extra careful and have a critical analysis before making any buying decision on the internet.

As, i’m doing blogging thing part time….i got my day job to do. But i just want to reflect to all my Malaysian friend of one emails that i received through my office email network, its a guy from south africa asking help and advise regarding scam activities in dropshipping business. Here’s the email ;

To all my dear friends,

This early morning I received a call from Mr Seoogobind (I’m not very sure whether this is the right spelling). He was calling from Surinam, South Africa. He is having problem which need our advice and attention. I would like to share and ask my expert friends in KPDNHEP to assist me solving the problem.

He had ordered three containers of Carnation brand Evaporated Milk and Nescafe products from Malaysian based company GRACIOUS WORLD SDN.BHD. (www.graciousworld.com) and the transaction were done through internet and phone calling. He had made 3 payments and from the first payment he made (18th May 2007 untill today, the total payment is amounted up to USD27,000 but unfortunately, he still didn’t manage to get his order. The payment made through TT and he had promised to me to fax the copy of it, some related invoices and papers as soon as possible.

He tried to contact the respective officers of the company named;

1.Mr Lim Khong
Director of Supply

2. Mr. Koh Tan
Director of Sales and Export

3.Miss Shanti Maholtra
Northern Regional Manager

at 03-21165743 many times but he failed to reach anyone of them. When I browsed the company’s website, I had a bad feeling that there may be something fishy going on in the company’s activity. I’m not very sure, where should I channel this issue or whether this case is under our jurisdiction but I believe we have to do something to help this poor guy and the most important part it will reflect our Malaysia image to foreign investors.

There are few things that I would like to moot;

1) What is the best advice pertaining to this problem?
2) If there is any wrongdoing, did our friends from SSM and enforcement division can take action in any Acts that under our purview?

3) Does actually GRACIOUS WORLD (M) SDN BHD registered and exist? Probably our friends from SSM can help us verify the status.

4) If it is not under our jurisdiction where should we channel this problem?

You can browse the company’s website www.graciousworld to get the details of the company. To kindhearted officers out there, I’m very much appreciate if you can contact him personally and these following particulars may help you;

Name : Mr Seoogobind

Company’s name : SIMPEX International Sdn.Bhd.

Tel no: 00597232454 (office)

005978504705 (mobile)

005978817924 (mobile)

e-mail : simpex@sr.net

This gentleman is expecting something bright from us..

Thank you in advance for your attention and advices.

Well, this thing is still pending and hopefully some authorities will investigate this matter.

But i would like to point out that the email is from my office’s mate and this email and have been circulated to everyone in the office.

I don’t really want to judge on this matter…but i can give some general comments on this matter. I find it hard to believe as this website by the name of www.graciousworld.com is actually registered by Malaysian company. The realities shows that Malaysians have been banned from the clickbank and not in the paypal’s list for withdrawal is a big troublesome to us Malaysians….plusss…..the high fraud credit card cases contributed by Malaysians too…andd…..the bad news is that this company of graciousworld have put it even more by tarnishing us as Malaysians or even to the business community in Malaysia especially those in the internet marketing and e-commerce businesses.

Pertaining to this matter….I urged that every Malaysians to adhere to the ethics of trading online and respect the transactions made. Otherwise this would be a burden to us Malaysians as more and more reputable merchant provider, making money programmes and the international consumer would have a very bad impressions towards us.
