Is Giant Hypermarket a SCAM!!!

Is this a scam? , I went to GIANT Hypermarket at Kelana Jaya and this incident happened to me around last month if i’m not mistaken. I looked at the flyers here hanging that says MILO is RM12.99 compared to usual price of RM15.19. So i took a pack of MILO from its gondola and headed straight to the sales counter and to my surprise that it actually priced at RM15.19 not the RM12.99 as what it says from the receipts printed.

Well, at the same time i bought Nik Arshad’s promils infant milk along with Milo that cost around RM32++. I’m not satisfied, telling again to the cashier that there might be a confusion with the price. The cashier told me to go to the customer services and lodge a complaint as the price tag have been recorded at the sales point and for me to be able to get back any refund i was ask to go to the customer services.

Weird, Confused, Anger with the explanation by the customer services rep. , she says that you can get this price with the condition of “Purchase With Purchase” and must be RM50 and above for me to be entitled for that RM12.99 MILO. What the hell…how should i know, that magic “P.W.P” word is actually “Purchase With Purchase” and i am still not entitled for that discount price due to the fact that my spending do not comply with minimum RM50 expenditure. Helll….there is no wordings at the flyers saying that it must be above RM50??? What a confusion here and weird off course.

Nothing much i could say about it, should i argue on this with the customer service rep? it is a waste of my time. If i were to argue with customer services for say about 20 minutes, i would only get back RM2.20 which is a low value engaging in arguing.

But am i not being a smart consumer?? What if there are 1000 customers happened to be in the same situation like me in a month? Simple calculation might be 1000 x RM2.20 would be RM2200. Isn’t crazy guys!!! Money making out of thin air and confusion.

This is the tactics and indeed a bad marketing tactics made by this genius GIANT hypermarket. Furthermore, i observed Carrefour and TESCO are into this tactics too.

So…if there anything that the consumer could do and my points to ponder is;

1. Is this a fair trade practices for all the hypermarkets concern??

2. Self claiming to yourself to be the lowest price in town but engaging into this bad marketing tactics?

3. Am i overcloud by the grandeur of the modern shopping lifestyles and couldn’t care more about this bad tactics of yours? If there is 1000 or 10000 customers like me?

4. Keep to yourselves and think that we still do not have any strong consumer movement yet as far as i’m concern.
